Job summary

Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Scarborough, ON is seeking a qualified professional for the Heat Treatment and Metallurgical processing roles.

The position focuses on sustaining processing techniques and ensuring NADCAP accreditation requirements are met. You will perform duties in Heat Treatment, Vacuum Brazing, Dip Brazing, hardness testing and chemical processing while collaborating with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to establish repeatable methods and compliant procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Gr. 12/high school completion.
• Technical diploma an asset.
• Post-secondary in Metallurgy / Materials / Processes (Aluminum expertise preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in a M&P/metallurgical role.
• Very good knowledge of AMS2750, AMS2770, AWS3.7.

Responsibilities

• Sustain development of internal processing techniques and procedures.
• Perform duties in Heat Treatment, Vacuum Brazing, Dip Brazing, Hardness Testing, and Chemical Processing process requirements.
• Continual improvement on techniques and technologies involved with special processing.
• Continual improvement of Methods and Procedures.
• Support NADCAP accreditation requirements and audits.
• Support training, certification, job audits and internal audits related to special process.
• Act as a liaison with industry organizations and committee meetings.
• Engage with tensile, metallography, and other NDT methods to determine characteristics.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering to establish repeatable methods with sound M&P logic.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure adherence to procedures and NADCAP requirements.

Job Duties

• Attendance at NADCAP committee meetings and AWS committee meetings
• Play a key role in BPQ (Braze qualification process)
• Engage with tensile, metallography, and other NDT methods to determine the characteristics of processed alloys
• Work side by side with Manufacturing Engineering to establish repeatable methods with sound M&P logic
• Work side by side with Quality Engineering to ensure adherence to internal procedures and NADCAP requirements
