Job summary

The Government of Yukon, Continuing Care division, seeks a dedicated Continuing Care Security Officer to maintain the safety and security of the long-term care home in Whitehorse. You will report to the Manager, Safety & Security and work with staff to protect residents, visitors and facility assets.

Candidates should have experience in emergency response, safety services, and report writing, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training in responding to emergency situations
• Experience providing safety and security services
• Experience maintaining records and preparing comprehensive reports
• Experience using basic computer applications, including email, word processing, and internet-based systems.
• Recent experience providing client-centered services in a front-facing public environment, preferably in a health care or related setting

Responsibilities

• Maintain security of the long-term care home and its residents, staff and visitors
• Support a safe workplace for staff and residents
• Assist Maintenance Persons and other staff as needed
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safety protocols are followed
