The Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority invites applications for a Cook in Teulon, within the Food Services department. The role covers supervision of staff, preparation and serving of meals per recipes and diet restrictions, with attention to sanitation, safety, cost controls and inventory management.

Under the Manager and Dietitian, you will lead day-to-day operations, schedule tasks, and coordinate with regional colleagues.

Formación

• Minimum Grade 11 education required.
• Valid Food Handlers Certificate required (must be obtained within six months).
• Completion of a recognized Institutional Cooking Course required or Red Seal.
• Knowledge in the areas of therapeutic diets and texture modification.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Minimum three (3) years cooking in a commercial food services environment.
• Three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Ability to operate required equipment.
• Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
• Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
• Satisfactory employment record.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the daily operation of the Food Services department.
• Supervise food service staff and ensure preparation and service of appetizing food in accordance with recipes and diet requirements.
• Manage scheduling, ordering, cost and inventory controls.
• Collaborate with the Regional Food Services Dietitian and other departments within the region.
