Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Food Services Worker to join the Food Production team in a hospital setting. The role requires self-motivation to work independently and in a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to a safe, respectful environment for staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities include portioning meals, food prep, dishwashing, tray accuracy, and clerical duties as needed, with potential for cash handling and guest queries.

• Effective written and verbal communication required.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Physical ability to carry out duties and organize workload.

Mansioni

• Portion and serve meals per Food Safe protocols.
• W ash and peel vegetables and fruit.
• Prepare items such as tea, coffee and toast.
• W ash dishes and utensils.
• Portion desserts and assemble sandwiches and salads.
• Prepare and portion diet items per nutritional plans.
• Measure and mix ingredients by methods such as grinding, blending, slicing, dicing and/or puree.
• Check patient/resident meals/trays for dietary accuracy.
• Operate cash register and handle payments where required.
• Answer customer queries.
