Job summary

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking an Environmental Aide to support clean, safe patient care environments at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. You will perform housekeeping tasks, floor care, waste management and help maintain high infection prevention standards.

The role requires a Secondary School Diploma and completion of Public Health Ontario’s Environmental Toolkit within one month of start date, strong English communication, reliability, and the ability to work flexible

Qualifications

• Minimum secondary education completed with strong English communication.
• Must complete Public Health Ontario Environmental Toolkit within one month of start.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping duties and custodial tasks to keep the facility clean and safe.
• Carry out hard floor maintenance, deep cleaning, carpet care, garbage and recycling.
• Adhere to cleaning checklists and safety policies; support quality improvement.
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues to meet needs with respect.
• Ensure patient rooms and common areas remain neat and well maintained.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain and enhance skills.
