Job summary

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is seeking a patient-facing clerical/administrative professional to support Huntsville and Bracebridge sites. You will answer calls, register patients, schedule appointments, manage admissions and transfers, and provide compassionate service to patients and families.

Ideal candidates have an Office Administration certificate, Medical Terminology, strong organization, and experience with healthcare software.

Qualifications

• Certificate in a recognized Office Administration program or equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of Medical Terminology course.
• Significant clerical experience with strong organization and accuracy.
• Excellent keyboarding and computer skills (60 wpm).
• Experience with healthcare software and hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer main switchboard calls and route inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide directions or information.
• Register patients for inpatient/outpatient services and collect registration data.
• Process admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Schedule appointments and manage appointment communications with patients.
