Job summary

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare in Huntsville, Ontario, is seeking a Laundry Associate to support hospital operations by sorting, washing, drying, and distributing linens across units. Responsibilities

• Performs laundry procedures for personal linen and hospital textiles.
• Sorts, washes and dries linens such as slings and other hospital linen.
• Manages electronic orders, collection, distribution, processing, inventory control and labelling of linens.
• Distributes linens to units and records activity on control sheets.
• Discards worn/damaged items and maintains clean work area and equipment.
• Loads/unloads washers and dryers and cleans lint catcher.

Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi‑site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site.

ROLE

• Performs laundry procedures related to personal linen, as per family centered care philosophy at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare
• Performs laundry procedures related to sorting, washing and drying of linens such as slings and other hospital linen as required
• Performs procedures related to the electronic orders, collection, distribution, processing, inventory control and labelling of all linens
• Distributes personal and institutional linens to the units by receiving, loading, sorting and recording personal linens on established control sheet.
• Discards of worn or damaged linens beyond repair, ensuring appropriate record keeping
• Maintains a tidy and clean work area and equipment and ensures care and economical use of supplies and equipment.
• Loads and unloads washers and dryers and cleans out lint catcher

Required Education And Experience

• High School Diploma

• Experience in record maintenance and dealing with the public
• Good verbal and written English communication skills with an ability to work within a team approach
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties
• Ability to meet and maintain health and attendance standards
• Computer application skills, to include Microsoft Office applications

• Knowledge of Laundry operation an asset
• Knowledge of Laundry chemistry and textiles an asset

Additional Information

Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Department: Support Services

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
