Qualifications

• Ontario Secondary School diploma or higher
• Good command of English (reading, verbal and written)
• Recent housekeeping experience preferred
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (training as required)
• Ability to lift up to 35 kg and stand for long periods
• Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, dust, and damp mop all assigned areas
• Dust, wash, and polish furniture and fixtures
• Clean and vacuum carpets where applicable
• Gather and dispose of garbage and linen
• Clean isolation rooms, broken glass and dispose of body fluids
• Clean stretchers, S/L and wheelchairs
• Follow hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff
• Identify educational needs and communicate with management
• Participate in quality checks and safety training
