Summary
DMC is currently looking for a Health, Safety & Training Coordinator to join our team on a FIFO schedule in Cadomin, Alberta, CA. The Health, Safety & Training Coordinator will be responsible to provide subject matter expertise and support in achieving HSEC Safety & Training objectives. The Safety & Training Coordinator assists in developing the HSE/Training components to support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the H&S Management System.
- Travel and accommodations are paid and LOA is provided by DMC Mining.
Responsibilities
- Conducts, promotes, and coordinates regular safety and environmental programs at site.
- Contributes to the revision of policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conducts inspections of all facilities.
- Ensures proper training of all employees in operation, safety and or maintenance functions.
- Ensures that all HSE/Training reporting is accurate, complete, and distributed as per the DMC HSE Management System.
- Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential an actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Ensures the investigation of accidents and injuries.
- Cooperates in preparation of materials and evidence for organizations use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
- Complies and submits accident reports required by DMC Mining Services and regulatory agencies.
- Participates in the administration of the workers compensation program, including the coordination of modified duties.
- Maintains safety files and training records.
- Plans and conducts inspection and safety meetings with crews.
- Develops safety work procedures.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Represents the organization in the community and industry with respect to safety group programs.
- Purchases and assists with the procurement of PPE supplies.
- Assists with the orientation process of new employees.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core.
- Train Trainer Certified.
- Underground mining experience.
- Working knowledge of the occupational Health and safety act and other related regulations.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Computer knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Mine Rescue and Emergency Response training skills/certifications.
- Excellent communication skills and record keeping skill.
