Job summary

Home Hardware in St. Jacobs, Ontario, is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to ensure a safe workplace and drive proactive safety programs.

You will support incident investigations, inspections, training, and emergency response leadership, aligning with Ontario regulations. The role requires 3–5 years of H&S experience and a CRST certification; a strong communicator who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Health and Safety with 3–5 years of hands-on experience.
• CRST or equivalent; Internal Auditor certification is an asset.
• Ability to interpret health and safety legislation.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial contact for Team Member Health and Safety concerns at St. Jacobs DSC.
• Review incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform or coordinate health and safety inspections and annual drills.
• Lead Emergency Response Team with training and communication.
• Design and deliver Health and Safety training including Office Orientation.
• Maintain First Aid equipment and ensure availability of First Aiders.
• Stay updated on Health and Safety research related to the DSC.
• Act as backup contact for emergency situations.
• Facilitate HSMS projects as assigned by the Manager, Corporate Health and Safety.
