Qualifications

  • 5+ years of health and safety experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario OH&S legislation and regulations.
  • Post-secondary education in OH&S, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • JHSC certification required; CRSP or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience with injury claims, return-to-work programs, and environmental compliance is an asset.
  • Strong communication, investigation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Ontario health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Manage workplace injury claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training and new hire orientations.
  • Support hearing conservation, respiratory protection, emergency preparedness, and other safety programs.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities, reporting, inspections, and required testing.
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and employees to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Track HSE performance, maintain records, and provide reports and recommendations to management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist to support a manufacturing environment and lead initiatives that promote workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities
