Summary

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager (CAN) will serve as a safety role model at our state-of-the-art facility in Acheson, AB. You will work closely with production and management to embed a strong safety culture through coaching and mentoring, providing training and guidance daily.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with policies related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment
• Lead and support the Occupational HSE Committee
• Provide guidance and oversight to HSE teams
• Identify coaching opportunities and promote safety culture
• Support HSE programs like Hazard Identification, Incident Investigation, etc.
• Develop safety training materials
• Oversee Workers’ Compensation processes
• Monitor safety program effectiveness
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
• Communicate legislative changes and ensure compliance
• Assist with employee and contractor orientation
• Be available for evening or overnight shifts as needed

Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as OH&S, CRST, CRSP
• 5+ years safety leadership in manufacturing
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation and influence skills
• Proactive, organized, and able to work independently
• Experience in safety training development and delivery
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to build relationships across departments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management
