Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor in Toronto to ensure the full implementation of company EHSQ policies and procedures on a new project starting soon. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to maintaining high health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Preparing RAMS for all projects and ensuring adherence to RAMS and task-specific SPAs
• Promoting a positive health, safety, quality, and environmentally conscious culture across the organization
• Investigating and following up on non-compliances, incidents, and near misses
• Conducting regular reviews of corrective actions from non-conformances
• Performing weekly site inspections
• Completing internal audits on projects, procedures, and sites
• Reporting on EHSQ performance of project teams and subcontractors to the EHSQ Manager
• Reviewing EHSQ documentation from contractors and subcontractors
• Assisting in compiling EHSQ reports and memos
• Analyzing accident statistics and trends
• Maintaining professional knowledge, including IOSH membership and attending conferences
• Managing K&M document system as appropriate
• Supporting EHSQ training development and rollout

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Health and Safety
• Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and Safe T Cert
• Manual Handling Trainer and VDU Assessor qualifications are desirable
• Experience in the construction industry
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel if needed
