Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor in Toronto to ensure full implementation of company EHSQ policies and procedures on a new project starting soon. You will be part of a growing, experienced team dedicated to maintaining high health and safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Compile RAMS for all projects and ensure adherence to RAMS and task-specific SPAs.
  • Promote a positive health, safety, quality, and environmentally conscious culture across the Group.
  • Investigate and follow up on non-compliances, incidents, and near misses.
  • Conduct regular reviews of corrective actions from non-conformances.
  • Perform weekly site inspections.
  • Complete internal audits on projects, procedures, and sites.
  • Report on EHSQ performance of project teams and subcontractors, and recommend improvements to the EHSQ Manager.
  • Review EHSQ documentation submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual EHSQ reports, memos, and bulletins.
  • Analyze accident statistics and identify trends.
  • Maintain professional knowledge, including IOSH membership, conferences, publications, and networks.
  • Create and manage the K&M document system relevant to the role.
  • Support development of EHSQ training requirements and programs for all departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and Safe T Cert standards.
  • Manual Handling Trainer and VDU Assessor certifications are desirable.
  • Experience in the Construction industry.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
