• Diploma/degree in health information management or related field
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and health information databases
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards
• Understanding privacy legislation and information governance in health records
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
• Effective communication and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain patient health records in electronic and paper formats
• Assign diagnostic and procedure codes and ensure accuracy of coding for clinical, administrative, and billing purposes
• Ensure compliance with privacy, access, and release-of-information policies and applicable legislation
• Perform data quality audits, reconcile records, and correct discrepancies to maintain information integrity
• Prepare statistical reports, information extracts, and summaries for clinical, administrative, and regulatory use
• Provide training and support to staff on health information systems and record-keeping procedures
