NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position follows the rota schedule. Please note that salaries are pro-rata for part-time hours.
Due to service expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bone Marrow Transplant Team at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). We are the national service for allogenic haemopoietic stem cell transplants in Scotland, serving patients from all 14 health boards across a population of nearly 5.3 million. Referrals are made by local haematologists or oncologists who believe their patients may benefit from a transplant. We offer various types of transplants, including autologous, cord blood, haplo-identical, and CAR-T therapies.
Previous haem/oncology experience is desirable but not essential. We provide a comprehensive induction and education pathway for all staff, who will be fully supported by a preceptor. A designated clinical nurse educator on the ward will facilitate and support staff development.
Our unit has been awarded the 'Greatix Ward' award for the past two years, based on patient feedback and staff commitment to going the extra mile to support each other, patients, and their relatives or carers.
