Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. in Chestermere, AB is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join a dedicated care team under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse. You will deliver a range of basic resident care, including assistance with activities of daily living, bathing, feeding, and mobility, within a home-like setting.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment is preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and thorough basic care and services to residents under supervision.
• Assist residents with bathing, transfers, mobility, feeding, and daily routines per care plans.
• Support residents to and from dining, activities, and social events within the facility.

Job description

* Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote resident personal comfort and well-being according to strict water temperature control procedures.* Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet, using appropriate Engineering Controls (Ceiling Lifts, Mechanical Lifts) and Personal Protective Equipment Controls (Transfer Belt)**.*** Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times. Refer to care plan for appropriate diet to each resident.* Provide routine treatments (e.g. skin creams, bowel protocols) and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.* Assist residents to travel about the facility.* Assist residents to and from the Dining Room for meals.
