Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our Calgary area team. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide basic resident care, including bathing, transfers, feeding, and assisting with daily activities in a supportive, home‑like setting.

The ideal candidate has a year of experience in continuing care or related environment, English fluency, and an approved PCA/HCA certificate.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate course or equivalent education.
• Active registration with CLHA (College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to individual care plans.
• Assist with resident transfers using appropriate equipment and belts.
• Feed and assist residents during meals and nourishment times.
• Provide routine care procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Assist residents in mobility and movement with or without aids.
• Accompany residents to activities and therapies within the facility.

## Health Care Aide - AgeCare DawsonApply: Calgary, Alberta, Canada: Part time: Posted Today: R26\\_06507**The Opportunity**As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a member of the care team, collaborating on the delivery of resident care. The Health Care Aide, under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, applies their knowledge and skills in order to provide a wide variety of safe and thorough basic care and services to residents. **What You Will Do*** Bath, shower, and wash residents according to the NCP to promote resident personal comfort and well-being according to strict water temperature control procedures.* Transfer/assist with resident transfers in and out of bed, to and from wheelchair, commode, or toilet, using appropriate Engineering Controls (Ceiling Lifts, Mechanical Lifts) and Personal Protective Equipment Controls (Transfer Belt)**.*** Feed/assist with feeding residents during meals and nourishment/snack times. Refer to care plan for appropriate diet to each resident.* Provide routine treatments (e.g. skin creams, bowel protocols) and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.* Assist residents to travel about the facility.* Assist residents to and from the Dining Room for meals.
