Job summary

CBI Home Health in Calgary is seeking Health Care Aides to support clients in their homes and community settings. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, and help clients stay safe and independent with a compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• CLHA registration with the appropriate provincial body.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months.
• Proof of a negative TB test.
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license.
• Commitment to work every other weekend.
• Strong verbal and written English communication; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 16 kg (35 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in their homes.
• Help clients stay safe and independent in congregate settings.
• Assist with light housekeeping as per care plans.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervisor/manager.
• Support mobility and light exercises as needed.

What You Will Do

As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in our congregate settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives. You will provide personal care to clients in their home in the lodges, and may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises. You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor. You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Your CLHA Registration
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
• Proof of a negative TB test
• Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
