Job summary

CBI Home Health is looking for Health Care Aides in Red Deer to support clients at home and in community settings. You will provide personal care, assist mobility, and help with daily living tasks.

You will observe and report changes to your Manager/Supervisor, and may perform light housekeeping. A valid license and vulnerable sector screening are required, with a flexible schedule offering full-time, part-time, or casual opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Health Care Aide license in good standing (Alberta).
• Clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector.
• Negative TB test result (lifetime or within required period).
• Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license.
• Willing to work every other weekend.
• Strong English communication, other languages an asset.
• Able to lift up to 16 kg (35 lbs) safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients in home settings.
• Support mobility and light exercises as directed.
• Observe, document, and report changes to the supervisor.
• Assist with light housekeeping as indicated in care plans.

What You Will Do

As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in our community settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives. You will provide personal care to clients in their home, and may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises. You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor. You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Active License and in good standing with the CLHA
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months
• Proof of a negative TB test within your lifetime
• Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license
• Commitment to work every other weekend
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
