Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society in Taber, AB is hiring a Health Care Aide for a temporary full-time role at Linden View, 4700 64 Avenue. You will work 07:00–19:00 in a resident-centered, home-like environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support residents with daily living activities, dignity, and privacy.

Ideal candidates hold a Health Care Aide certificate, Grade 12 or GED, First Aid, Alberta registration with CLHA, Food Safe Basic, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent.
• Grade 12 or GED.
• First Aide.
• Alberta: Registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Alberta: Food Safe Basic or equivalent.
• Able to communicate information in English both verbally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously and positively with residents/clients, resident’s family, visitors and team members.
• Demonstrates flexibility by changing routine to accommodate residents/clients needs.

Responsibilities

• Engages with residents in daily living activities, respects dignity, privacy and independence.
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in a home-like environment.
• Assists with bathing, dressing, meals, grooming and portering as needed.
• Keeps care plans and guides updated and adheres to GSS/GSC standards of care.
