Health and Safety Coordinator – Ottawa/Kingston

Primary Responsibilities:

• Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all site activities adhere to Ontario’s health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Risk Assessments: Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
• Safety Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Training and Mentorship: Lead safety training sessions, providing mentorship to staff on safety protocols and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
• Collaboration with Site Teams: Work closely with superintendents and site teams to promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety, particularly within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of Ontario’s health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and promote safety culture.

Education and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, plus recognized safety certifications (e.g., Certificate of Recognition [COR], First Aid, WHMIS).
• Clean Driver's Abstract
