Summary

The Bilingual Health and Safety Coordinator (Eng/Fre) coordinates environmental, health, safety, and security programs and activities to help maintain compliance, mitigate risks, and improve performance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point-of-contact for environmental, health, safety, and security inquiries and incidents.
  • Provide guidance to team members and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate the implementation of related programs, processes, and resources.
  • Participate in activities such as safety meetings, incident investigations, security clearances, emergency procedures, training, and audits.
  • Research and recommend improvements on environmental, health, safety, and security matters.
  • Maintain and assist with documentation, including plans, procedures, checklists, and training materials.
  • Participate in field inspections, audits, and reviews to monitor compliance and identify risks.
Incident Investigation, Resolution & Reduction
  • Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze trends and suggest incident reduction strategies.
Audit Compliance, Data Maintenance & Reporting
  • Maintain data related to environmental, health, safety, and security.
  • Assist with compliance audits and prepare reports.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Completed college degree.
  • Certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related fields preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to speak Tagalog is an asset.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and emergency management.
  • Strong organizational, communication, administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Licenses and Professional Accreditation

Interest in attaining certifications such as:

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • Certified Health & Safety Consultant
  • Physical Security Professional or Certified Protection Professional
  • Business Continuity Planner
