Marmon Rail Group is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator in Joffre, Alberta. This role involves managing safety tasks, supporting our Rail group, and participating in related projects. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, it is a key position within the organization.

Procor Limited manages Canada's largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network nationwide. Our fleet exceeds 30,500 tank and freight cars, serving various markets including petroleum, chemicals, and food.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Site Manager and with dotted line reporting to the Regional Health and Safety Manager, the coordinator will establish, implement, and train staff on the Continuous Improvement program across mobile and on-site operations. The role includes managing apprenticeship programs, assessing training needs, maintaining certifications, and administering the Health & Safety program, ensuring ongoing coaching and communication.

  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 CAD annually

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and deliver training for the Continuous Improvement program, ensuring sustainability through coaching and communication.
  • Serve as the main contact for apprenticeship programs for mobile and on-site operations.
  • Determine the most effective training delivery methods, whether internal or external, face-to-face or remote.
  • Identify new safety or technical training needs.
  • Provide training and certifications for all mobile and on-site staff.
  • Maintain and update training materials and tools.
  • Coordinate certification of work on mobile and on-site equipment.
  • Administer the Health & Safety program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, management, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Provincial OHS Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • C.R.S.P. designation is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including calculations and data interpretation.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and solve day-to-day problems involving internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

Work may occur in indoor facilities or outdoor environments exposed to weather, noise, fumes, and temperature fluctuations.
