Job summary

Ontario Public Service is seeking a seasoned data and analytics professional to lead quantitative health research, analysis, and reporting that informs policy and planning across Ontario’s health system. You will interpret health indicators, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision making through rigorous analytics and stakeholder engagement.

• Research and recommend analytical methodologies, statistical techniques, and measures to support projects and reporting requirements.
• Provide advice and guidance to clients on health analytics, data products, reporting solutions, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Build collaborative relationships with ministry partners, clients, and external stakeholders to support project and business objectives.
• Coordinate and lead smaller-scale analytics and product development projects, ensuring deliverables and timelines are met.

About the job

In this role, you will:

Health analytics and research

You can:

• apply quantitative research methods, statistical techniques, and data analysis approaches to complex health system issues.
• conduct needs assessments, literature reviews, and analyses to support evidence-based recommendations.
• interpret health system data, indicators, and performance measures to generate actionable insights.
• assess data quality, limitations, and methodology considerations when conducting analyses.

Technical knowledge

You have:

• knowledge of one or more areas such as epidemiology, health economics, health geography, biostatistics, population health, health system performance measurement, or health status assessment.
• understanding of health system trends, planning, policy, and analytics within a complex healthcare environment.
• experience using information systems, databases, and analytical tools to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data.
• knowledge of privacy, information access, and related standards governing the use and management of health information.

Communication and stakeholder engagement

You can:

• communicate complex analytical findings clearly through reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
• build working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
• provide advice and consultation on health information products, reporting needs, and analytical approaches.
• translate technical information for a variety of professional and non-technical audiences.

Project leadership and collaboration

You can:

• coordinate and contribute to multiple concurrent analytics projects and priorities.
• provide leadership and guidance to project teams and work groups.
• monitor project progress, manage timelines, and support the delivery of quality outcomes.
• participate in committees and collaborative initiatives to advance health analytics objectives.
