Position Overview

Kopahawakenum School on the Flying Dust First Nation near Meadow Lake Saskatchewan requires a TERM HeadStart/Nursery Instructor. Kopahawakenum School is an Aboriginal HeadStart/Nursery, and K-8 school.

Responsibilities

• Be sensitive to the needs of students
• Be reliable, motivated, and a team player as well as capable of working independently
• Assess students in initial screening, ongoing developmental, and specialized assessments
• Utilize organizational skills and planning abilities to include assessment process as well as plan and program holistic age-appropriate activities (physical, social-emotional, spiritual, and intellectual)
• Work in a multi-cultural community and engage students of varying abilities
• Establish and maintain close communication with parents and family members, including home visits when necessary
