Job summary

Terrapex is seeking an experienced Manager, GIS & Data Management to lead our GIS, CAD, and Data Management team across Ontario. This leadership role oversees the collection, management, analysis, presentation, and quality of spatial and technical project data.

You will mentor a team, develop standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary projects. Post-secondary education in GIS or related field and a minimum of five years in GIS or data management are required; advanced GIS tools

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Geomatics, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in GIS, data management, or a related technical discipline.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing technical teams is a strong asset.
Strong understanding of GIS principles, spatial data collection, processing, management, and visualization.
Advanced proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, AutoCAD, TabLogs, Microsoft Office Suite, Datanest.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, guidance, and technical oversight to the GIS & Data Management team.
Establish, maintain, and improve procedures, standards, templates, and tools related to GIS, CAD, and project data management.
Develop and manage databases, applications, and digital systems supporting data analysis, reporting, and presentation, including Datanest and TabLogs platforms.
Oversee GIS hardware, software, licensing, upgrades, and maintenance programs.
Manage workload distribution, project priorities, resource allocation, budgets, and deliverable timelines for GIS and data management services.
Monitor operational efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
Collaborate with technical managers and project teams to support project delivery requirements.
Participate in annual budget planning and manage departmental expenditures.
Coordinate technical training and professional development opportunities for staff.
