Job summary

Public Health Ontario is seeking a Geospatial Analyst in Toronto to lead geospatial analytics for surveillance, population health, and public health planning. You will develop analytical methods, create maps and dashboards, and support evidence-informed decision making.

Required: a bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field and at least five years’ GIS experience with ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Python, SQL, and R; strong collaboration and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geography, geomatics, GIS or related field.
• Minimum five years of GIS and geospatial analysis experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Python, SQL and R is preferred.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy and ethics in health data.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances geospatial data assets.
• Develops geospatial analyses, visualizations, and spatial intelligence products.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on spatial modelling and risk analysis.
• Promotes adoption of innovative geospatial methods and technologies.
• Communicates geospatial findings via maps, dashboards, and reports.
