Job summary

Martyn Bassett Associates is seeking a Head of Fraud to join as the 4th pillar on the leadership team. You will treat fraud as a data problem, leading all Fraud Operations and working to productize fraud signals from Buyer Data used by automotive finance clients.

The role demands 10+ years in Fraud Operations, hands-on leadership, and the ability to be in downtown Toronto at least one day per week. Prior auto-finance experience isn’t required, with fraud vendor backgrounds welcomed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Fraud Operations, specifically Credit Card/Payments Fraud.
• Experience running a fraud detection platform and monetizing signals.
• Currently in a leadership role, with hands-on duties.
• Auto finance experience not required; fraud vendor background acceptable.
• Willing to be in-office in downtown Toronto at least 1 day/week.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Fraud Operations and drive productization of fraud signals.
• Own the fraud data lifecycle and tie signals to business outcomes.

Our client delivers digital identity, income verification, and pre-qualification solutions tailored to automotive finance dealers and lenders. Its mobile identity verification platform helps combat fraud in vehicle financing through an intuitive smartphone application powered by advanced artificial intelligence, biometric authentication, and anti-fraud technology.

The Opportunity:

You will join as the first-ever Head of Fraud, reporting into the Founder/CEO, as the 4th pillar on the leadership team alongside the Heads of Engineering, Product, and Operations.

You are a quantitative, data-first operator who treats fraud as a data problem, not a compliance checkbox.

You will lead all Fraud Operations, with an eye towards "productizing" Fraud Signals, based on the Buyer Data ingested by the Paays platform as used by Automotive Dealerships.

The Skills/Requirement Needed to Succeed:

• You have spent the last 10+ years in Fraud Operations, specifically Credit Card/Payments Fraud.
• You might also be running the product side of a fraud detection platform, and understand how fraud signals get monetized.
• You are currently in a leadership role, but there are aspects of your work that require you to be hands-on.
• Auto finance experience is not required. Fraud vendor backgrounds count too.
• You're able to be in-office downtown Toronto at least 1 day/week.
