Job summary

Farm Mutual Re in the Waterloo region seeks an AVP, Data & Reporting to lead the data ecosystem. You will oversee data engineering, BI, reporting, and advanced analytics to drive informed decisions, operational excellence, and business growth.

This role defines the enterprise data strategy, governance framework, and standards, leads KPI development and executive dashboards, and fosters data literacy in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/Math or related field.
• 10-12 years of progressive analytics, reporting, data management experience.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience.
• Experience developing enterprise data strategies and roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of modern data platforms, BI tools, analytics solutions, and data architecture practices.
• Experience establishing governance, quality, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Able to translate business strategies into actionable analytics initiatives.
• Influential communicator with executives, stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Passionate about data-driven decision-making, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the enterprise data and reporting roadmap.
• Lead data engineering, BI, reporting, and analytics teams.
• Establish Data Governance & Control Framework, including quality and security.
• Define standards and integration approaches for scalable data platforms.
• Lead KPI development and executive dashboards for meaningful insights.
• Promote self-service analytics and data literacy across the organization.
• Maintain fluency in modern data platforms and analytics technologies.
• Implement monitoring to improve data accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with leadership to translate priorities into analytics initiatives.
• Lead Analytics Community of Practice across the organization.
• Encourage data stewardship and common metric definitions.
• Mentor leaders and build organizational capability.
• Manage departmental priorities and resources.
