Job summary

iA Financial Group seeks a Head of Advanced Markets & Field Underwriting to lead end-to-end complex cases and national accounts. You will anchor underwriting, sales, risk management, and partners, while advancing distribution capabilities and talent development.

You will build credibility through deep technical leadership, guide multidisciplinary teams, deliver strategic presentations, and mentor colleagues to enhance knowledge transfer across Canada.

As Head of Advanced Market and Field Underwriting, you will play a key role in positioning, strengthening, and growing iA's presence within advanced case and national accounts segments. In this role, you will provide end-to-end leadership on complex files, leveraging deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and field credibility. Acting as a central anchor between underwriting, sales, risk management, and key partners, you will actively contribute to promoting iA's value proposition, enhancing distribution capabilities, and supporting internal talent development.

What you'll accomplish with us

• Assume end-to-end accountability for advanced market cases and national accounts, from pre-underwriting through to in-force servicing.


• Develop and position iA's field underwriting expertise with specialized advisors and distribution partners.


• Provide strong technical leadership in both medical and financial risk assessment.


• Analyze and assess complex sales concepts to ensure alignment with risk appetite, profitability objectives, and client experience.


• Lead and mobilize a multidisciplinary team, including underwriters, case coordinators, and specialized experts (e.g., tax, actuarial), while acting as a credible leader with internal teams, distribution partners, and reinsurers.


• Prepare and deliver presentations and training sessions, and actively support talent development and knowledge transfer.
