Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is hiring an Inovo Operator to transfer eggs from incubators to hatchers at our New Hamburg, ON hatchery. You will follow SOPs, perform vaccinations and inspections, and uphold animal welfare standards in a biologically controlled environment.

The role requires handling eggs, operating hatchery equipment, and maintaining sanitation per CFIA and OBHECC guidelines. Competitive pay and benefits apply after orientation.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and safe handling practices.
• Adherence to SOPs and health & safety protocols.
• Flexible hours to complete tasks.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely pull incubator racks and transport to transfer room.
• Operate transfer room machinery (Egg Remover, Inovoject, Transfer Head).
• Transfer eggs to hatcher boxes and load into hatchers.
• Perform egg inspections and humane euthanasia per policy.
• Support candling and fertility checks per OBHECC regulations.
• Verify vaccine equipment calibration and maintenance records.
• Weigh and record egg weights to optimize hatch timing.
• Sanitize transfer equipment with approved disinfectants.
• Conduct quality control tests for diluent, vaccine, and sanitizer.
• Follow Maple Leaf Foods Biosecurity and Hygiene policies.
