Job summary

The Home Depot in Canada is seeking a Sales Associate to provide fast, friendly service by greeting and engaging customers, assessing needs, and guiding them to the right solutions for their projects.

You will develop product knowledge across departments, promote services like Tool Rental and Pro Desk, and maintain store standards while working a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 2 years Retail or Trade experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and thank every customer in the department and provide basic service in adjacent departments.
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort them to appropriate merchandise.
• Ask open-ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine needs and level of expertise.
• Promote services such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc.
• Discuss available options (good, better, best) and suggest related items/services outside the department.
• Educate customers about the whole project.
• Maintain daily stock, cleanliness, and appearance of products.
• Maintain knowledge of products in the department and adjacent departments.
• Follow safety and loss prevention policies and procedures.
