Job description

Description of the Role

Safran Electronics & Defense Canada is seeking a Hardware Group Manager to lead our hardware development team. This role involves managing activities related to the design, verification, and configuration management of complex hardware solutions for aerospace and safety-critical applications.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage and guide all activities within the Hardware group, including development, verification, change management, and proposals.
  2. Maintain and update processes and procedures in compliance with industry standards such as DO-254.
  3. Support career development, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
  4. Manage team skills, identify gaps, and coordinate training and subcontractor support.
  5. Recruit and select team members.
  6. Contribute to product and technology roadmaps.
  7. Monitor and support subcontracted activities.
Technical Capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge of DO-254 and DO-160 standards related to airborne electronic hardware design, development, verification, and certification.
  • Experience in effort estimation, load planning, risk analysis, and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of aerospace circuit technologies, including power supplies, motor control, sensors, I/O, and microcontrollers.
Qualifications
  • Eligible for CGP and ITAR clearance.
  • Degree in Hardware, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within a relevant domain.
