Hardware Component Engineer

Experience Required:

The candidate should have experience in some or all of the following areas:

1. Low-power circuits, DC/DC converters, power management methods, analogue circuits and mixed-signal circuits.
2. Processors, digital circuits and embedded systems.
3. Sourcing, evaluating & selecting components for new & established designs.
4. Familiarity with the major manufacturers, distributors and sources of components.
5. Bench & lab testing techniques to ensure the components perform (standalone and populated into PCBs) per the data sheets.

Additional Requirements:

The Successful candidate should also:

1. Have a degree, or postgraduate qualification, in Electronic Engineering.
2. 5+ years of experience in consumer products, component engineering, embedded systems, and debugging.
3. Have excellent attention to detail, especially for review of spec sheets – electrical & physical characteristics of components.
4. Environmental testing experience would be a bonus.
5. Have strong communication and documentation skills and ability to operate autonomously.
6. Have a good understanding of manufacturing process and good interpersonal skills to work with the SMT team on pilot runs, etc.
