Junior Component Engineer

Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com) is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace, defence, and space industries.


We are currently seeking a Junior Component Engineer to join our team. The Component Engineer will be part of the hardware design and development team and will work alongside various engineering team members to provide support and assistance where required. You will be responsible for maintaining the component database, preparing manufacturing packages, and working alongside team members to analyze and solve issues.


Location: Mississauga, ON

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Responsibilities
  1. Understand Electronic Component Specification and provide approval to use in Electronic Design.
  2. Understand assembly drawings, Gerbers, and get quotations from PCB and CCA houses.
  3. Prepare manufacturing packages for PCB and CCA Suppliers.
  4. Maintain Component Database.
  5. Work with hardware and proposal team members to analyze and solve issues.
Basic Qualifications
  1. A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 1 year of experience in electronic design industry preferred in Component Engineering role.
  3. Experience with Silicon Expert is an asset.
  4. Experience with PLM tools is an asset.
  5. Experience in quotation from suppliers from engineering drawing is mandatory.
  6. CCA, PCB Manufacturing process experience is an asset.
  7. Prior working experience in an aerospace company is an asset.
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills.
