Job Description
Supplier Quality Engineer
Responsible for performing PSAs (Potential Supplier Audits) and closing out PSA audit shortfalls. Manages the APQP process to support program launches and develops engineering feasibility documents, incorporating lessons learned by commodity/component. Supports supply crisis situations related to capacity and quality.

Performance Expectations
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements in the facility’s location, including:
- The Global Operating System Plays;
- OHSAS 18001:2007 Health and Safety Management System standard;
- ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System standard;
- IATF/TS16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics System standards.
- Support, promote, and demonstrate Linamar’s core values and leadership behaviors.
- Maintain a balance between customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing performance indicators (Linamar Supplier Scorecard System).
- Manage supply aspects including APQP, launch, PSA’s, and crisis management.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to meet program requirements.
- Interpret regulatory quality documents for application to manufacturing and quality systems.
- Participate in quality planning of the supply base (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA).
- Identify gauging methods to ensure supplier quality requirements are met.
- Lead and participate in APQP meetings and 8D problem-solving sessions with suppliers.
- Review and update process documentation as needed.
- Engage in supplier development activities, including prototype runs, pre-production analysis, and process release.
- Follow up on part readiness, safe launch assurance, and red launch solutions.
- Track lessons learned and incorporate them into engineering feasibilities by commodity/component.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required.
Desired Characteristics
- Five to seven years of related experience.
- Experience with risk analysis and FMEA for automotive products.
- Proficient in writing and executing engineering test protocols, quality assurance reports, and proposals for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to present to senior management on topics like product costing and equipment failures.
- Skills in interpreting operational and quality reports, drawings, and GD&T.
- Leadership in project teams involving engineers, technologists, clients, and contractors.
- Proficiency with MS Office, CAD, statistical software, and knowledge of material processes and IATF/TS16949 standards.
