Job summary

Questrade is seeking a hands-on Team Lead to guide a software squad, owning a system, and directing full-stack delivery while enhancing SDLC health. You will mentor engineers, review code, shape technical direction, and collaborate with People & Culture on people processes.

You will drive technical delivery, stay current with trends, and govern AI-assisted development to ensure security and quality as part of a dynamic, growth-focused team in Canada.

Qualifications

• Senior-level, hands-on full-stack experience with deep expertise in at least one core stack, plus mentorship, code review, and design contributions.
• Ability to supervise a squad and coordinate delivery within SDLC health and governance.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and keeping humans accountable for what ships.

Responsibilities

• Technical delivery: stay involved in code reviews, architecture, development/QA, and production support.
• Mentorship: provide direct technical guidance and evaluate new technologies for the team.
• Ownership: own a specific system or feature area and keep development processes running smoothly.
• Vision & communication: liaise with stakeholders, explain complex topics clearly, and document effectively.
• People & culture: build an engaged, inclusive team, give feedback, and participate in hiring and career development with P&C.
• Governance: ensure adherence to policies and propose squad-level process improvements.
