Job summary

Seequent, based in Toronto, seeks a Team Lead, Software Development to guide a talented software team. You will own end-to-end design, development and delivery of complex software platforms while driving performance, security and governance.

The role blends leadership with hands-on coding and requires strong collaboration with product managers and designers. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in software roles, 1+ year in leadership, and familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in Software Developer roles including Senior Software Developer.
• 1+ years leading a team (formal or informal).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and architectural guidance for complex software applications, services and components.
• Maintain hands-on coding and champion software engineering best practices.
• Deliver new platform capabilities and software components meeting functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, compliance).
• Lead design reviews and recommend alternatives and trade-offs.
• Allocate tasks aligned with team objectives and individual capabilities.
• Monitor performance metrics and take preventive/corrective actions as needed.
• Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders on deliverables, budgets and timelines.
• Support governance, change control and risk assessment for projects.
