Job summary

Onsite Sign seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Sign Installation & Service Technician Apprentice for our Acheson branch. The role involves preparing, installing, and servicing sign systems, reading installation drawings, and working across Calgary, Acheson, and other locations.

You will use hand and power tools, travel as needed, and maintain safety records while collaborating with teams. Monday–Friday with some weekend work; overtime and out-of-town travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read & understand drawings related to sign installation.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills.
• Experience using manual & power tools.
• Loading/securing materials & hauling experience.
• Assist with servicing & troubleshooting signs.
• Fluent with computers and handheld devices.
• Sound safety practices and completion of required safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret sign installation drawings and specs.
• Read and follow safety instructions and document activities.
• Inspect freight and manage materials handling.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Load, secure, and transport materials as needed.
• Assist with servicing and troubleshooting signs in the field.
• Work with computers/handheld devices for updates and reporting.
• Maintain safety records and adhere to on-site procedures.
