Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Engineering Physics; 1–3 years of relevant industry experience; graduate degree is an asset.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and the preparation of engineering drawings (SolidWorks preferred).
• Hands-on experience with wiring and electrical test equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities

• Design fixtures, chucks, probe mounts, and fiber mounts in CAD and maintain drawings, BOMs, and inventory records.
• Integrate motion stages (e.g., Zaber), probes, detectors, and thermal control systems into the test station.
• Build and route cabling, diagnose and resolve grounding, shielding, and electrical noise issues.
• Source components and manage relationships with vendors and machine shops, including the purchase order process.
• Improve wafer handling, measurement repeatability, and throughput as wafer sizes and production volumes increase.
