Job summary

RANOVUS Inc. in Ottawa/Kanata, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own embedded firmware for microcontroller‑based optical modules.

You will collaborate with hardware, optics, ASIC, systems, and test teams to deliver robust, production‑ready solutions. You will lead firmware development in C, drive device drivers, diagnostics, and telemetry, and guide hardware–software integration from concept through release.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development.
• Expert-level proficiency in C for embedded systems.
• Experience with microcontrollers (PSOC, STM32) and resource-constrained environments.
• Strong debugging and hardware–software integration skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement low‑level embedded firmware for microcontroller‑based optical communication systems, primarily in C.
• Lead board bring‑up, hardware–software integration, and system‑level validation activities.
• Drive CI/CD improvements and testing strategies using GitLab and automated pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical roadmaps and design discussions.
