Job summary

Westech Vac Systems is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Canada. The role focuses on hands-on assembly, inspection, and support for hydraulic components with opportunities to work with heavy equipment and industrial machinery.

The position is full-time with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency, including collaboration with welders, electricians, and other assemblers on a dynamic shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in assembling, installing, or servicing mechanical components on heavy equipment or industrial machinery.
• General understanding of mechanical systems and production equipment.
• Experience reading work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start assigned assembly equipment at the beginning of each shift.
• Perform mechanical and light manufacturing assembly using hand tools and power tools.
• Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
• Operate shop equipment such as band saws, drill presses, and iron workers in accordance with safety requirements.
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure workmanship and quality requirements are met.
• Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and support safe operations.
• Collaborate with welders, electricians, and other assemblers to support workflow.
