Job description

McInnes Cooper is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to join our Accounting and Finance team in our Halifax office for a full-time permanent position. In this role you will provide high-quality billing and collections support helping to ensure our internal and external clients consistently receive top-tier service.

As a Billing Clerk you will be responsible for :

  • Creation of invoices and credit memos;
  • Support firm members with the implementation and maintenance of billing rates;
  • Review and analyze Work In Progress (WIP) reports;
  • Reconcile the firms billing cycle including pre-billing and invoice submission;
  • Support the firms collections processes;
  • Facilitate quality control and audit processes; and
  • Perform other duties as required.

The successful candidate will possess the following skill set :

  • Diploma in Finance Accounting or Business;
  • Minimum one year of related experience;
  • Proficient in data entry and Microsoft Excel with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Exceptional communication skills a special focus on client service and the highest degree of professionalism;
  • Experience with legal billing software preferably Elite 3E;
  • Adept in technology and a desire to continuously improve and innovate;
  • Experience working in a professional services environment will be considered an asset; and
  • A positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment!
