The manager’s primary role is to ensure customer satisfaction, salon profitability, and generate an enthusiastic and professional environment where stylists are continuously inspired, through effective leadership, to do their best and be successful.

The manager must be a constant role model for all stylists, have the ability to inspire respect and creativity, and understand the SmartStyle Brand Promise.

General Accountabilities

1. Provide quality haircuts and chemical services (color, perms, highlights, etc.)
2. Educate and recommend hair products to customers.
3. Evaluate performance and service provided by all stylists.
4. Perform technical adjustments.
5. Create staff scheduling.
6. Place retail product orders.
7. Maintain and count retail product inventory.
8. Ensure customer satisfaction is delivered.
9. Perform opening/closing procedures as applicable.
10. Flexible schedule, including evenings & weekends.

Job Qualifications

1. Education:
2. Successful completion of cosmetology curriculum.
3. Secondary education required.
4. Experience: 2+ years of management experience or 5+ years of experience as a stylist.
5. Licenses/Certifications: valid Ontario Cosmetology License.
6. Intermediate computer skills and use of email are a must.
