Job Title: Salon Business Consultant

Great opportunity! Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around Sudbury, Sault Sainte Marie, Espanola, Elliot Lake, Blind River, North Bay, Mattawa, Deep River, Pembroke, New Liskeard, Kirkland Lake, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls, Kapuskasing, Timmins, Hearst, and Moosonee Ontario Canada.

Essential Functions

Salon/Beauty Industry experience highly preferred

The Salon Business Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers to help grow their salons' overall sales. The Consultant will meet and achieve sales goals by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources, expanding sales through opening new doors, selling approved beauty products, and introducing new products and concepts. They will actively use social media to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed beauty professionals.

Primary Duties
  1. Grow the Business:
  • Identify key accounts and establish an efficient route for growth and development.
  • Assist customers in developing, planning, and implementing salon promotions and programs.
  • Determine customer needs and offer suitable products and services.
  • Communicate sales initiatives with vendors to achieve sales goals.
  • Respond promptly to all communications (within 24 hours).
  • Analyze accounts to determine needed support and promotions.
  • Call on customers in person to meet sales goals.
  • Process returns according to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with various business departments.
  • Prospect for new customers via cold calling and social media.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including order entry and maintaining customer data.
  • Use social media for communication, promotion, and education.
  • Conduct product knowledge classes.
  • Communicate with the Manager regarding sales activities and needs.
  • Grow Team and Culture:
    • Become a subject matter expert on digital platforms and share knowledge with peers.
    • Attend meetings, events, and shows, including physical setup and dismantling.
    • Support new initiatives and foster positive change management.
  • Grow Yourself:
    • Continuously seek learning and growth opportunities.
    • Participate in business development days and build vendor relationships.
    • Utilize tools and resources for personal development.
    • Adapt to market changes and increase industry knowledge.
    • Create an organized work environment.
    Experience and Skills Required
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 1 year of outside sales or beauty industry experience with a focus on consultative selling.
    • Reside within the assigned territory.
    • Knowledge of inventory control and visual merchandising preferred.
    • Proficiency with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
    • Strong computer skills, including Salesforce, Outlook, and PDF tools; experience with iPad is a plus.
    • Ability to build online communities and social connections.
    • Willingness to travel locally and attend events, including overnight stays.
    • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness.
    • Comfort with driving and managing multiple projects.
    • Professional appearance and effective communication skills.
    Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

    The environment involves typical safety precautions for offices, stores, and vehicles, including sitting, driving, standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs, and other physical activities.
