Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Guest Attendant to provide compassionate personal care and daily living support to residents, helping them live safely, comfortably, and with dignity. You will work in a warm community that values empathy and exceptional service.

The role includes assisting with daily activities, meals, laundry, and medications while adhering to health and safety protocols. A valid background check and health screenings may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services.
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively.
  • Willingness to wear PPE and pass required background checks (Criminal, TB tests where required).

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines.
  • Support laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service.
  • Administer medications and follow care plans.
  • Maintain clean, safe resident areas and follow health protocols.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to Health and Wellness Manager.

As a Guest Attendant at Chartwell, you’ll provide personal care, assistance, and support to our residents, helping them live comfortably, safely, and with dignity. Your empathy, professionalism, and commitment to excellence will create a warm, supportive environment where residents feel truly at home.

What You’ll Do
  • Help residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines like dressing and meals
  • Provide support with laundry, light housekeeping, and meal service
  • Administer medications and follow individual care plans
  • Keep resident areas clean and safe, and follow all health and safety protocols
  • Respond to resident and family concerns and report to the Health and Wellness Manager when needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in personal care, laundry, food service, or support services
  • Secondary school education; post-secondary training in a care field preferred
  • Ability to read, follow, and communicate instructions effectively
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and understanding of seniors’ needs
  • Maintain high hygiene standards, work safely with equipment, and manage time well

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the demands of the role
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items
  • Preparedness to respond to emergency situations
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
