Job summary

BC Public Service in Dawson Creek is seeking a Guardianship/Adoption/Permanency Worker (SPO 24R Growth) to support children in care. The role focuses on safety, stability and lasting permanency through proactive planning and advocacy.

You will provide adoption-related services to children, adoptive families, and birth parents while collaborating with local teams. Qualifications emphasize social work or human services and BC registrations. A CRC/CRRA check is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work or Child & Youth Care or Master’s in Educational Counselling/Psychology with practicum in family and child welfare.
• Equivalent registration with BC College of Social Workers or approval pending may be considered.
• If degree obtained outside Canada, equivalency assessed by ICES and MCFD report required.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support children and youth through care, developing safety and permanency plans.
• Advocate for rights and coordinate adoption-related services for children and birth/adoptive families.
