Another Mason Group Exclusive! Our very successful Langley-based client is looking for a Group Controller with proven success in a manufacturing environment to join their team. This newly created role offers a marvelous opportunity to leverage your strong technical accounting knowledge, operationally focused FP&A modeling talents, computer system intelligence, and proven leadership skills.

Reporting to the President at the Langley head office of this multi-location BC company, you will lead a sizable accounting team across two locations. Mentoring and growing accounting staff, including CPA students, is a passion for you.

Ultimately, you will be responsible for the financial reporting of multiple companies. You have a desire to utilize technology to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities. The goal is to automate wherever possible, improving accuracy and timeliness, allowing you to focus more on enhancing business profitability.

As a member of the Leadership team, you are passionate about collaborating with operational peers and supporting business growth from a financial perspective. You will capitalize on current and future ERP system capabilities, possess advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, and be curious about new technologies that could benefit the organization.

An ERP upgrade or change is anticipated in the next few years, giving you the opportunity to assess the current systems, compare options, and make recommendations. If you have a strong IT interest, you'll enjoy owning this project.

Job Requirements:

• Canadian CPA designation in good standing
• 10+ years of progressive and relevant experience, including responsibility for full-cycle accounting in a Controller or similar role
• 5+ years of mentoring and growing an accounting team
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred unless you can convincingly demonstrate otherwise
• Strong understanding of ASPE
• Proficient with Excel, ERP systems, and technology in general
• Demonstrable problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Proven ability to adapt communication style to your audience
• Desire to work in a caring, employee-focused environment
