Job summary

CedarCreek Estate Winery in Kelowna, BC is seeking a Groundskeeper for a seasonal, on-site role. You will help maintain landscapes, assist with pruning, mowing, planting, and event setup to support our winery operations and guest experience.

We value passion for horticulture, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. The role requires physical fitness, a valid driver’s license, and the willingness to collaborate with a team to keep our grounds pristine.

Qualifications

  • Interest or experience in horticulture.
  • Ability to use hand and mechanical tools.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg).
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support team to maintain plant health in landscapes.
  • Pruning, mowing, planting, mulching, and grounds care.
  • Set up and take down for winery events.
  • Pruning, thinning and harvesting fruit trees.
  • Maintain winery residence gardens.
  • Keep facilities clean and well-maintained.

The Life of a Groundskeeper

  • Responsible for working with the team to improve or maintain the health of the plants in the landscape and within the natural environment
  • Participate in pruning, mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, pressure washing, fertilizing, raking, weeding, and tidying gardens and grounds
  • Assist in the set up and take down for winery events/concert series
  • Pruning, thinning and harvesting fruit trees
  • Maintain the gardens of winery residences
  • Perform other duties to maintain a clean and well-maintained landscaped environment and property in general

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience or a passion for horticulture
  • Ability to use hand and mechanical tools
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physically fit and capable of bending as well as lifting and carrying up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs)
  • Working outdoors, in all weather conditions is required
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • You listen, take feedback, respond quickly, and take initiative with a sense of urgency
  • You are authentic, diplomatic, thoughtful, and always have the best intentions

Bonus Points:

  • Certificate in horticulture considered an asset
  • 1-2 years’ experience
